Le patronage micha\u00eblite de notre chapelle correspond tr\u00e8s bien \u00e0 ce que nous enseigne la tradition catholique : saint-Michel est pour le catholique fervent, en tant que premier des archanges, celui qui pr\u00e9side au jugement particulier des \u00e2mes apr\u00e8s la mort : c\u2019est saint Michel archange le \u00ab psychopompe \u00bb, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire celui qui p\u00e8se les \u00e2mes.<\/p>\n

On le voit souvent ainsi repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans l\u2019iconographie catholique traditionnelle, par exemple dans le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre polyptyque du Jugement dernier de Rogier Van der Weyden, dans la grande salle de l\u2019H\u00d4TEL-DIEU de Beaune.<\/p>\n

\"DSC00185-1opt\"L\u2019archange est invoqu\u00e9 comme \u00ab\u00a0notre sauvegarde contre les pi\u00e8ges et les emb\u00fbches du d\u00e9mon\u00a0\u00bb en tant que \u00ab\u00a0chef des arm\u00e9es de Dieu\u00a0\u00bb (Josu\u00e9 V, 14). Dans l’apocalypse (XII, 7-9), Saint Jean nous dit en effet : \u00ab\u00a0et il y eut guerre dans le ciel. Michel et ses anges combattirent contre le dragon. Et le dragon et ses anges combattirent, mais ils ne furent pas les plus forts, et leur place ne fut pas trouv\u00e9e dans le ciel. Et il fut pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9, le grand dragon, le serpent ancien, appel\u00e9 le diable et Satan, celui qui s\u00e9duit toute la terre, il fut pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9 sur la terre, et ses anges furent pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9s avec lui.\u00a0\u00bb
\nCette mission hautement spirituelle du chef des arm\u00e9es c\u00e9lestes nous permet de comprendre facilement pourquoi le culte de saint-Michel est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 celui du respect de la m\u00e9moire des d\u00e9funts.<\/p>\n
